3月3日是全国“爱耳日”。记者从全国“爱耳日”宣传教育活动办公室获悉，2016年第17次全国“爱耳日”宣传教育活动主题确定为：“关注儿童听力健康”。
第六次全国人口普查结果显示，0～14岁儿童总数超过2.2亿。做好儿童听力健康及听力残疾早发现、早干预和早康复具有重大的抢救性意义。
第17次全国“爱耳日”宣传教育活动主题的确定，一方面帮助公众了解儿童听力残疾现状、致病原因、儿童听力残疾预防与康复方法，树立早发现、早干预、早康复的理念，降低儿童听力残疾的发生几率；另一方面也是为唤起全社会对听障儿童的关注、理解和帮助。为听障儿童全面发展，早日步入正常人社会创造良好的社会环境。
全国“爱耳日”活动期间，中国残联、教育部、卫生计生委等有关部委还将联合在京举办全国“爱耳日”公益音乐会。各地也将开展形式多样、内容丰富的科普宣传教育活动。受世界卫生组织委托，中国聋儿康复研究中心将协助世界卫生组织在其成员国开展“国际爱耳日”主题宣传活动。
